A Sword and Its Past (05.14.2021 edited)
A flashback from the inner door, on her dark brown eyes, bedazzled and mesmerized with the double-edged sword she is looking at the moment. At the tip of the sword is a perfect silver finish and at the end of its gold-like grip handle are tiny silver bells.
One thing she knows and sure, she might have seen this sword somewhere.
She touched the tiny silver bells. Its crisp sound brought her ears some tingling sensation.
Suddenly her memories of the past became vivid.
The tiny silver bells sound continued to echo to her ears, and Chu Qiao remembers Xinger, although she wasn’t sure if Xinger and her was the same person as she can recognize Xinger in her memories. Chu Qiao recalled about Yuwen Yue held a contest to select her bedchamber maid.
Xinger won in the tea making ceremony and won in the writing contest and so forth.
Chu Qiao saw Xinger’s first night with his master as her bedchamber maid.
When Xinger’s was awarded the silver bell…
When Yuwen Yue trained Chu Qiao to commission her and become an official agent spy of the eyes of God.
When Yuwen Yue gave her the Canhong Jian sword…
When Yuwen Yue and Xinger fought won’t let go of her hand from the castle peak, Xinger was about to fall and Xinger let go of his hand…
When Yuwen Yue came to Yuwen Huai’s dungeon and saved her by temporarily killing her with a needle.
Yuwen Yue said: “A woman who cannot be controlled is worse than dead.”
Chu Qiao also saw the grave of her siblings Ling Xi and Zhi Xiang, the tomb of Xinger where his master Yuwen Yue thought she was burned to death. From ashes, the ring her master gave her was found by Yuwen Yue. It left the young master of the Green Hills courtyard devastated for days…
It also flashed back on her memories when Yuwen Yue gave Xinger the first mission but then the master rescued Xing’Er.
Next thing, they were lock up in the cave with shop owner Zao Baocon. This old man revealed them that the sword Yuwen Yue gave her the Canhong Sword was actually a lover’s sword together with Yuwen Yue’s Po Yue Jian sword.
Yuwen Yue really honestly not knowing any of the swords past story, he blushed and did not comment on anything that was said. Zao Baocung teased them but Yuwen Yue was just too tired and looks sick.
“That’s it! I knew it! This is Po Yue Jian sword!”
She looked at the sword once again and touched its blade, she closed her eyes all of a sudden like she was turning around it and its flashback of memories continues. She didn’t know she has this power until now.
After several minutes, she opened her eyes and her tears falling down, she saw in her flashback a part of Xinger’s memories and Yuwen Yue about this sword, but she chooses not to continue.
“Who are you, Yuwen Yue? Did you really love Xinger all this time? Why is this sword lock up in here?” Chu Qiao on pause before she let go of the sword.
Chu Qiao suddenly on the rush, she needs to get out of the obstacle course, or she will fail today with the tall incense waiting for her outside as her timekeeper, she cannot stay longer. She put a marker on its four sides so she can go back to this place and do not get lost when she comes back to take this sword in this maze-like obstacle course.

Mimi Gongzhu, did something happened inside? Viper is intrigued because Chu Qiao seems entirely quiet for hours and she feels something is bothering her.
Chu Qiao is browsing the ancient text where a hidden mini-library was located underground of her diamond hall.
There are stratagems planted along the paths going to the secret library of the old palace walls were attached big mouths of lion heads that automatically lights its fire after you push a switch-like mechanism.
The light travels and illuminate the pathway until you find a door made of iron and cold stones that resembles like ice.
The library structure was formed of pure limestones and no exit door except for its Canhong (dark red color) entrance door.
It was locked down after it detected fire from the outside palace hence the hidden library was preserved from destruction.
Chu Qiao usually spends her time reading about the history of their kingdom like a hang-out space, she can come and go evading the obstacles planted inside.
Viper is busily preparing their tea for the afternoon, and she is still waiting for Chu Qiao to respond to her inquiry.
Chu Qiao looked at her and then looked back to the book she is reading. Seems Chu Qiao wanted to ask her something and Viper felt that long silence was something to do about an object she hid somewhere in the Chu palace training ground.
Viper is too impatient to wait, she asked: “Is it about the lost Po Yue Jian sword?”
And still, no answer as if Chu Qiao did not hear any of her questions.
Viper asked her again for the third time: “Did you find it?”
Chu Qiao looking harassed and seems like she is responsible for answering Viper questions, so she responded in question as well: Why, did you hid the sword?
Viper opened more can of worms than she could hide, she was caught on the air as if she’s like an open can to spill more beans at any moment.
“Is this sword belongs to you or someone else?” Viper replied
I believe it isn’t mine until I saw it earlier. Chu Qiao responded in a cold, sarcastic voice because there were no answers only questions going back and forth.
Viper feels Chu Qiao may have been upset with her: “I am sorry princess, I asked because the Po Yue Jian sword was the lost sword of the Qinghai King’s son. The sword was protected by our ancestors for many generations, and it was only taken out only after the Qinghai King presented it as a gift to his son whose name is engraved in the sword as Yue. The King regarded his son as his moon as the king is the sun. The son on its cradle rules at night while the sun sleeps and the father rules at the day as the moon sleeps.”
Chu Qiao stood up from her place of reading and came near towards Viper, and suddenly Viper does not want to get electrified, so she slightly avoided her and about to leave when Chu Qiao grabbed her arms. Seems Viper cannot avoid spilling more beans now.
Where can I find the Qinghai King? Is he still alive? Chu Qiao’s face close to Viper’s face and Viper saw her sleepy dazzling eyes full of sadness and coldness. Viper was not able to respond right away as she did not expect Chu Qiao will ask about the Qinghai King but instead should ask how or where is the son of the king.
“Qinghai King is still alive however he has cursed hence the decline of his empire.” Viper put the history in a one-liner statement then she looked down and continued to tell the secret princess: “as to his Highness whereabouts we do not know yet. He was taken somewhere, and until the curse is broken or his son gets back, the Qinghai King is locked up somewhere.”
Chu Qiao on her full attention and intense curiosity asked again: “Who cursed the Qinghai King?”
“It was the Queen.”
Chu Qiao thought: “She’s a witch.”
“Sort of” Viper replied as if she knows what in Chu Qiao’s thoughts.
“The prodigal son has a lot of things to do on his empire and his unfinished business to save his enchanted father. How is he doing?” asked Chu Qiao, cold but more relax than earlier.
The Qinghai baby prince was believed to be abducted by his own maiden slave mother, and according to the underworld spies report, the maiden came from Xie household. She took her son and its sword away from the palace, and Qinghai King was furious when the spies came back and did not find the baby prince, he ordered to burn down Xie household.
Viper does not want to continue, but Chu Qiao is like a hungry tiger waiting for the meat and bones of the past to be served on her plate.
“Then it was later found out that the mother escaped and was tracked by the King’s guards all the way to the Wei empire. Wei Valve needs authority to pass before any King can send its palace guards to search for the baby prince. However, since the King cannot risk leaking the news that the Po Yue Jian sword and his crown prince is missing to the other empires as he will be regarded as incompetent and foolish King, he cannot withstand the shame.
And so, he sent the underworld spies to hunt down the maiden slave, and even the smartest ones were not able to find the baby prince and its sword.”
What does it have to do with Chu Jing Kingdom? Chu Qiao after eating the meat and found its bones is now thirsty and wants to drink Chu Jing well of wine.
Your mother Luo He advised the King before he was cursed, it will need a long-term plan and cannot be addressed in a short-term one. If the King does not want to announce his son is missing and its sword he must trust the subtle long-term plan. Providing Mr. Wu’s argument to the King, the baby prince is not dead because there was no dead body found yet until today.
Your father Chu Teng Gao’s another main concern was the lost Po Yue Jian sword next to its inheritor, the blood of the Ximeng continent lies on it. If the Po Yue Jian Sword is lost, they believe there will be chaos, and so it happened. The other empires set its men on foot to find it and greedily possess it. Whoever owns the sword, will hold the world because the sword was forged in cold fire, fortified by the bloodline of King Yue of the ancient past, cast on the iron ice, all powers will drop any knee and surrender to its blade. So it was called the “The Gentleman of all weapons.”
“At that time they used the blackout news strategy as a band-aid approach to the alarming situation but unfortunately it did not last long, and the news broke out like a storm.
The Qinghai Empire was attacked by Wei empire and were exposed to decline, but before it was completely done Chu Jing kingdom, the moon of Qinghai defended the Sun and blocked them from their own doom.
Chu Jing always awake at night, looks after the underworld, the moon shining brightly at night, casting its beautiful shadow in Chisui lake or illuminating its light in the Chaosu lake came to its end. Thus the sun continued to shine its light while the moon waned and slept in the ashes of its darkness waiting for its waxing moment to rise and give light once again to this dark night.”
After eating the meat and drinking its wine, Chu Qiao suddenly wanted more like a drunken master listening to a barber told stories of Viper is really unbelievable for her.
Viper is that it?
Is that where Qinghai lived, and the Chu Jing ended?
The sun and the moon can never come out to shine again, its stars what about it, all scattered?
There were questions, but no answers as Viper nodded her head and ended by telling her about the prophecy.
“Secret princess, one thing more, I heard when I was still a child, it has been prophesied that the moon from Chu Jing kingdom will wax again but will have to fortify its terms with the ruler from Southern Liang and the ruler will abdicate its throne and Chu Jing will trove it away. The fierce Dragon from the north will tear it apart and will nip Chu Jing kingdom to its mouth. While the west Lion king is waiting for its child to be born who will snatch from the north Dragon’s mouth but unfateful awaits to its child and Qinghai the sun will cast its light and will redeem its moon. What is his, will be his for all time.”

Before I carry on… just a side remark…. I AM A HUGE FAN OF ANYTHING REGARDING “King Arthurs Court”– His Knights of the Roundtable and of course Excaliber…. !!!
Okay as I reread this, I am under the impression that the Chu Kingdom and QingHai were/are allies. But the Chu Jing Kingdom is not as expansive as the QingHai? And also it seems like the Chu Kingdom operated more on the Underworld Alliance– where lots of supernatural things occur.
Keep up the great work… I am enjoying all the wonderful storytelling!!!

Once again Thank you for the recaps and your fantastic comments. Basically, the screen writing structure of the princess drama series is like an arc based on the its original novel Chu Qiao Chuan Biography the chapters were divided into three 180 degree arc. I call it growth, apex and death. First sowing seeds, then watch something grow, then watch something reach its peak and watch something die. the Wei is exhausted in the drama and Yanbei died and still recouping. In the original novel the author wrote Yanbei recovered and about the rise of Bian Tang which is the Liang state in the drama series but forgot to also include the story of Bathuja family however the author develop the story of Huai Song another state controlled by Liang state princess Nalan Hongye (Xiao Yu in the drama) under the rule of Xiao Ce. In my fan fic, I wanted to start another arc but a downward 180 degrees to make it wholistic 360 degree novel, so I wrote about Yuwen Yue’s past as told by the drama he is an adopted son while in the original he isn’t. Qinghai is set and located in the Ximeng Continent where Yuwen Yue has to start from scratch after his yuwen family disowened him after his icy lake tragedy. In the original novel Qinghai was described as a desolate full of criminals and savage fighters where yuwen yue recruited his army and set up a new empire Qinghai. I don’t think Yuwen yue has to start from scratch, so to pick up the story of his adoption I had to paint the picture of Qinghai and shine like the sun, an abandoned empire of his own that will make him very hard to get back to Chu Qiao as his princely duties starts to unfold. On the other side, in the drama Chu Qiao had a higanbana flower at her back and the leader of wind and cloud decree while in the original these were not included, so Chu Jing kingdom has to established and somehow a lesser power than Qinghai looking after the underworld spies and other darker things, You are right, Chu Jing will only play the part given they have to suppress an empire if their mortal power oppress the people until it was overly utilized by Qinghai and started to shatter to protect its Sun as Chu jing is its moon. So you are right. We have seen the eyes of God as taking care of the mortal realms as Wei depicts a more carnal world wherein fresh flesh and blood is real while underworld ruled by Chu Jing will take care of the spiritual realms and it will be patterned on the Ying- Yang school in the Legend of Qin who studies about divinity the heavens and the underworld but its difference lies on a more realistic and little bit touch of fantasy side. Its like when the mortal is strong the spiritual declines, but when the mortal world weakens, so is the spiritual realms will come to its strength. The main goal is to still show that Chu Qiao can achieve and bring back the peace by teaching the empires to reform their slavery system, respect those who are forgotten by time and those who were put to ashes must rise to take its place that would bring back the balance of the world leaving no one behind. The central figure is Chu Qiao with her faith his groom to be Yuwen Yue may come back and she can make things right but it wouldn’t be that easy this time and it be more difficult ahead involving lots of throwback in the past to connect its future. have a good one
